DAY 68: Orange & Almond Tart


So today, on my way to Perth, I decided to call in at my Grandparents house in Rockingham and suprise them with a delicious Maggie delight! This tart was incredible, both in construction and taste. It was made from creamed butter & caster sugar, flour, orange rind & juice, lemon juice, ground roasted almonds, and 8 eggs yolks - yes eight! All beaten together and poured over a part-baked sour-cream pastry that was just waiting for its filling!

The image doesnt do it justice at all, and I followed the recipe exactly, so please excuse the browness of the tart. It was a heavy, richly, yummy cake like texture that was just incredible. I'm literally stuck for words...
